About Me
Holistic Counsellor
In 2006, I began exploring holistic therapies at a time when I was facing the most profound trauma of my life—the death of my husband. At the time, I was a young widow and a mother, struggling to imagine a future without him. The pain and weight of that loss felt insurmountable, and the thought of writing new chapters for my life seemed almost impossible. Yet, despite the overwhelming grief, I made a conscious decision to pursue healing. I did not want my life to be defined solely by loss, and so I began the difficult but transformative journey of healing and rebuilding.
The path to recovery wasn’t easy, and it required me to look at every part of my being—mind, body, and spirit. Traditional approaches to grief felt insufficient, as they often overlooked the interconnectedness of all three. In search of a more holistic approach, I sought the guidance of a counsellor and simultaneously began exploring alternative healing practices. I soon realized that true healing required addressing every aspect of myself, not just my emotional wounds.
I immersed myself in various modalities that could support my whole self. I made meditation a daily practice, grounding myself in the stillness that brought clarity and peace. I became a Reiki Master, learning to channel energy for healing, and I trained in Time-Line Therapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which helped me understand the profound impact of past experiences on my present. To deepen my ability to guide others through their own healing journeys, I completed a bachelor’s degree in counselling with a specialisation in grief and trauma.
Through these experiences, I not only healed myself, but also cultivated a deep passion for helping others heal and transform their lives. Over the course of the next eighteen years, I worked extensively with young widows and widowers, supporting them through their grief. I facilitated support groups, retreats, and one-on-one sessions, always focusing on empowering individuals to reclaim their lives after loss.
Through this work, I’ve witnessed the incredible resilience of the human spirit. It’s my firm belief that healing is not just about moving beyond pain but about embracing the growth that can emerge from our darkest moments.
Today, I support my clients in navigating various aspects of their lives, including relationships, identity, roles, health, career, and spirituality. My focus is on helping them connect with themselves on a deeper level, as this connection fosters a clearer understanding of their needs, desires, and emotions. When we are in tune with ourselves, we are better equipped to make informed decisions and care for our well-being. This self-connection leads to healthier relationships, more fulfilling choices, and a greater sense of purpose.
My personal experiences with grief, loss, and trauma have profoundly shaped my practice and understanding of human well-being. Navigating through my own challenges has not only given me a deeper insight into the complexities of human physiology but has also enhanced my ability to connect with and support others. This journey has deepened my empathy and perspective, enabling me to guide my clients in learning to regulate both their bodies and emotions.
I am passionate about helping individuals create deeper, more meaningful connections with themselves and others, while also discovering purpose in their lives. By integrating my personal experiences and intuition with professional knowledge, I strive to empower my clients to heal, grow, and live more fulfilling lives.
My approach is gentle andwhich n compassionate, yet I strongly advocate for positive, lasting change. I'm passionate about an integrative approach to healing urtures mind, body and spirit. I consider each client's unique life experiences, emotional health, and the impact of their behaviours and circumstances to uncover the root of their challenges, all within a psychological and spiritual context.
